Frequently asked questions
Questions, answered gently.
Where does the QR code lead?
The QR code opens their LegacyQR memorial on any modern phone — no app required. Profiles can stay private with a visitor password, or be opened for anyone who scans at the grave.
Can I edit the memorial later?
Yes. Sign in as the owner to update stories, photographs, videos, dates, and guestbook settings. You can keep the page private until your family is ready.
Is payment recurring?
Hardware is a one-time purchase: acrylic sticker $65 USD, stainless plaque $85 USD. Family Legacy+ is an optional monthly plan for richer memories.
Can I keep a memorial private?
Yes. Every memorial begins as a private draft. Lock it with a visitor password, or publish when your family is ready. Scans at the cemetery only open what you have chosen to share.
Do I need to buy a QR before I create a memorial?
No. Create a private draft first — name, portrait, and story. To put it on the internet (public, password share, or a QR visitors can scan), order a sticker or plate. Hosting is included in that one-time purchase.
Does the package include the physical plaque?
Yes. The acrylic sticker is $65 USD ($85 CAD). The stainless plaque is $85 USD ($99 CAD). Both include lifetime hosting. Choose in the shop and ship anywhere in Canada and the United States.
Do cemeteries allow a QR on the stone?
Rules vary by cemetery and monument. Many families place a small plaque or rigid sticker on granite or bronze. Ask the cemetery or monument shop if you are unsure. Our hardware is small, QR-only on the face, and made for outdoor stone.
Will it damage the stone?
The acrylic sticker uses 3M VHB-class outdoor tape designed for granite and bronze. The stainless plaque can use the same tape or discreet holes/pins. Follow cemetery rules and, if needed, have a monument professional install it.
Is an app required?
No. Any modern smartphone camera can scan the QR and open the memorial in the browser.
What if the QR fails or I need help?
If the QR does not scan, we replace the hardware. Email legacyqr4@gmail.com — a person replies. The memorial page stays online with the one-time package.
